Irv's Burgers, LA

What to expect
Roadside realness since 1946 — Route 66 DNA, stools, celebrities and weirdos in the same line, burgers ground fresh and pressed to order. West Hollywood on Santa Monica Blvd is the classic pilgrimage; also La Brea, Malibu, Vegas if you collect stamps.
Atmosphere is half the sandwich: stand energy, late nights on weekends, “made just for you” handwritten charm without becoming a parody of itself.
Burger
Irv’s Original Roadside Single — thin-pressed, griddled, honest. Build up to a double if hunger demands. Patty melt and chili cheese fries exist for lateral moves. Burger Review team recommendation: cheeseburger, keep it roadside simple.
Bun
Soft stand bun that understands grease. Not here to win bakery awards.
Cheese
American cheese melting into pressed beef. Classic California stand grammar.
Pickles
Pickles optional, recommended — vinegar vs. griddle char is an old and winning argument.
Sauces
Mustard, ketchup, mayo — choose your fighter. No bone-marrow TED Talk. Pull up a stool.
